About Us

We are Peg and Rob Chenault. We own and operate ResQMe Farms Cattery in our home located in
Amite, Louisiana. First, WE DON'T FARM CATS! One of our interests is participating in rescue
operations for animals. So when we decided to open a Cattery and hoped to use some of the profits to
help with rescue operations, we thought the name was appropriate.

Our goal is to provide rare designer kittens for those people looking for something unique, but with a
predictable manner that comes from years of specific breeding. We love our beautiful babies and
believe that the world is a better place with them in it. However, not everyone is looking for a pedigreed
kitten but still seeks the love of a companion pet. We realize that these designer kittens do not fit
everyone's taste or budget. And we highly recommend that if a pedigreed kitten is not for you, please
visit your local animal shelter where you may find a loving companion just for you.

We hope to provide our kittens with a wonderful legacy by using a portion of our profits to support local
rescue efforts. Our animals are lucky to be loved and spoiled, get proper vet care, proper grooming, and
all they can eat of nutritious foods designed to keep them healthy. Others are not so lucky. You will find
a donation button on our Purchasing Information Page. 100% of any donation you make through that
donation button will go to local rescue operations (within Tangipahoa Parish).

Please don't be offended or put off if we ask questions about your home. We have a responsibility to
ensure that all of our kittens go to appropriate homes where they will be loved and cared for. And we
welcome any questions you have for us and about our program. Our contract insists that our Munchkins
and Napoleons will be 'inside only' pets. Their small stature and short legs make them a target for
predators. All of our cats are inside only and may not be able to defend themselves properly if allowed
to roam free outside. All of our cats are raised from the day they are born in our home/cattery until they
are old enough to be placed in their forever home. After being weened from their mothers, they spend
many of their days playing in their own special building with us coming and going all day. Our breeding
program is strictly in-house. We do not allow any other cats access to ours through breeding or any
other manner to ensure our 100% FIV /FeLV/PKD disease free environment. None of our cats are ever
allowed outside unless they are in a carrier for travel. The only time our cats are segregated from our
other cats is to ensure unwanted breedings or if the cat needs medical attention. Our contract also
insists that none of our animals find their way to an animal shelter. You can read more about this on our

We are constantly in the process of selecting and purchasing our Kings and Queens (breeding stock)
from other Catteries around the United States. All of our Kings and Queens come from Champion blood
lines and were chosen for their excellent backgrounds, health, and beauty. Because of the quality of
their blood lines we can provide our customers with the healthiest kittens with temperaments that are
perfect for pets, breeding programs, and showing. Please see our Breed History Page to find out more

chosen for our program allows us to provide our customers with a variety of rare and beautiful kittens.
You will certainly be able to find that perfect kitten in one of our litters. Our kittens are raised in our
home and handled from birth to allow them to develop social skills necessary to be a wonderful
companion pet for any type of family setting and to keep them healthy. Please see our Purchasing

and Queens are registered with The Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA) and/or The International Cat
Association (TICA).

ResQMe Farms Cattery was inspired by a search for a kitten for a family pet. As we came across the
Munchkin and Napoleon breeds, we became interested in the unique history and fascinated with these
wonderful tiny cats with huge personalities. Our search started out with a mind set of purchasing one
pet kitten and resulted in the opening of ResQMe Farms Cattery. It wasn't only a love at first sight
relationship we developed with these animals, it was a true interest in expanding the breeds to ensure
that they are not lost in history again. Our Breed History Page gives you the fascinating details about
the breeds and makes one excited to join the ranks of people dedicated to seeing them flourish.

As our experience grows, our goals for future generations evolve. We are constantly on the look out for
rare colors and plush coats for our program. Our main breeding objective at this time is to breed down in
size. We have been very lucky in choosing our Kings and Queens and find that we are in a good
situation to provide toy and teacup size Munchkins and Napoleons. As all experienced breeders know, it
takes years to develop that special something that sets your cats apart from others. While all of the
kittens we breed will be lovely and special, we hope to eventually see most of our kittens in toy and
teacup sizes, in rare colors, with wonderful thick plush coats as our program progresses. Our Persian
program is slowly evolving into solid whites and other rare colors and rare colored point Himalayans. In
the meantime we will have beautiful Persian kittens in many colors to choose from.
