ABOUT US
Welcome to our site.  We own and operate ResQMe Farms
Cattery located in Amite, Louisiana.
First, WE DON'T FARM
CATS!
One of our interests is participating in rescue
operations for animals.  So when we decided to open a Cattery
and found we were able to use this venue to help with rescue
operations, we thought the name was appropriate.

Our goal is to provide lovely designer kittens for those people
looking for something unique, but with a predictable manner
that comes from years of specific breeding.  We love our
beautiful babies and believe that the world is a better place
with them in it.  However, not everyone is looking for a
pedigreed kitten but still seeks the love of a companion pet.
We realize that these designer kittens do not fit everyone's
taste or budget.  And we highly recommend that if a pedigreed
kitten is not for you, that you please visit your local animal
shelter where you may find a loving companion just for you.
Also, watch our Available Adults page for rescue animals
available for adoption.

ResQMe Farms Cattery was inspired by a search for a kitten
for a family pet.  As we came across the Munchkin and
Napoleon breeds, we became interested in the unique history
and fascinated with these wonderful tiny cats with huge
personalities.  Our search started out with a mind set of
purchasing one pet kitten and resulted in the opening of
ResQMe Farms Cattery.  It wasn't only a love at first sight
relationship we developed with these animals, it was a true
interest in expanding the breeds to ensure that they are not lost
in history again.  Our Breed History Page gives you the
fascinating details about the breeds and makes one excited to
join the ranks of people dedicated to seeing them flourish.

As our experience grows, our goals for future generations
evolve.  We are constantly looking for rare colors and perfect
coats for our program.  Our main breeding objective at this time
is to perfect our Napoleon program and breed to the Napoleon
Standard.  As all experienced breeders know, it takes years to
develop that special something that sets your cats apart from
others.  While all of the kittens we breed will be lovely and
special, we hope to eventually see most of our kittens meeting
or coming as close as possible to the Napoleon Standard.  We
are currently working toward that perfect kitten that we would
be proud to present in Show Halls.  To do that we are working
with other Napoleon breeders to Advance the breed to make
Showing Napoleons a reality.

So please spend some time and check out our site and visit us
again over the next months to see how our program is evolving.
You're sure to enjoy learning more about our designer kittens.
If you have any questions, please go to our Contact Us Page.
We look forward to hearing from you and will be happy to
answer any questions you might have.  Many people ask how
we come up with our names for our breeding cats.  They are all
based on things indigenous to Louisiana and things that
represent my ancestry.

Peg and Rob Chenault
ResQMe Farms Cattery
Rob and I have six human children and the number of feline children is
ever changing.  Our wonderful Boxer, Holly, who we rescued many
years ago, was laid to rest in March 2009.  All but one of our children is
grown and gone (some not far and some very far).  We have seven
grandchildren at last count and they all live far away (two in England,
two in California, and three in Tennessee).  We miss them terribly.  We
are in the never ending process of renovating my great grandparents
home and also own the home next door where I grew up as a child and
where one or more of our children are always living.  We have
numerous outbuildings on the property, two of which are dedicated to
the housing of our kitties.  Those are also in a never ending state of
remodel as new ideas occur to us.  Our kitties live very comfortably in
their own air-conditioned homes and are constantly rotated through
our homes.  They are not caged except for medical, grooming, or
travel reasons.

Rob and I are retired, but he works now and again to keep busy and to
help pay for this very expensive hobby of mine.  Rob loves to fish and
work in the yard.  He also loves interacting with other trades people on
their websites.  I love babies (all kinds) and enjoy watching their antics.
I love to raise my kitties.  I also love to research family history and can
be found in cemeteries snapping photos of headstones quite often.  I
am also a member of a local chapter historical group.

We are very family oriented and love huge family get togethers.  We
are members of the FUMC and enjoy that family also.  We love date
nights, but rarely get one.  And we are each others best friends.  We
have a symbiotic relationship that works well for us.  I get us into
trouble and Rob bails us out of it!  We lie about our age and weight as a
general rule.  We are convinced that elves visit in the night to pump fat
into my bottom and pluck hairs out of Rob's top!  Any other explanation
is out of the question!  And that's our story and we're sticking to it!
Welcome to our site and please feel free to call or email anytime.
